According to the ZNKR, the specifications for nito are:

Daito (long sword) :

Length: Shorter than 114 cm   (3.6 Shaku)
Weight : Male heavier than 440g, female heavier than 400g

Sakigawa diameter:

Male Over 25mm, female over 24 mm.

Shoto (short sword):

Length: Shorter than 62 cm (2.0 Shaku)
Weight:  Male, between 280 and 300g, female between 250 and 280g

Sakigawa diameter:

Male & female: over 24mm.
