Section 7 of Chapter 1:
Mystical experiences
Many people say that they have had "mystical experiences" in
which they have experienced the presence of God
If you are open to face the reality of
life without any bias, you will find yourself in a realm of
true experiences similar to those that you had. The difference
is that there is no need to require the existence of a "God"
in order to have such experiences. You have to think that our
mind has been forged since half a million of year and has
something which is common to everybody: as we want to survive,
we do not like incertitudes and prefer to stick to know things,
as new ones could be dangerous for our survival. And we often
luck the strength to accept that we are the result of an
evolution and not of an "intelligent design". This does not
exists. If we would succeed in accepting our not "divine"
existence, then everything else becomes easy to understand
and match the nature rules existing on this planet. "Spiritual"
experiences have not to do with something outside our nature,
but are the product of our mind, nurtured by our education and
culture. If you try to think back to your "spiritual" experiences,
you would have to admit that exactly the same feeling could come
to you even if you would not think of a God. Your experience is
independent of any, and not connected, to a whatsoever God. In
admitting this you become free and, some time more important,
you will not compete with similar experiences that somebody
does in the name of another God. This would allow you to feel
part of the whole human community and not only to the limited
one which believe to your same God. We need to build bridges
between people and not walls!! And to add some more thinking:
if a God would exists, and if he/she/it would interact with us
humans, then we could think that he/she/it is also responsible
for what happens on our planet, and what happens is so terrible,
that we would put him in front of a tribunal for crimes against
humanity. Please, free yourself and become a member of the
whole human race.
