Section 1 of the Introduction:

The fear of uncertainty

    As the first goal of every creature on this planet is survival, it is easy to understand that everything which is unknown is felt as potentially dangerous.
    The same apply to mankind for all phenomena which we cannot explain.
    It is then obvious that humans try to avoid uncertainty and for this reason are prone to accept abstruse theories, which pretend to offer an explanation to all questions and thus will reassure their mind and take the fear away.
    Luckily a few individuals are challenging this fear and trying to reach the boundaries of human possibilities. Those individuals are the source of progress.
    It is now obvious that progress in our society has always been ignited by some individuals who did not follow the "usual" way of thinking.
